CalQualityCare.org Data Sources May 6, 2014December 24, 20180 CalQualityCare.org provides information on California hospitals, medical groups, nursing homes, and other long-term care facilities, along with tips and checklists about how to choose a health care provider, questions to ask, how to pay for care, and what to do if something goes wrong. CalQualityCare has its own rating system for nursing home quality that differs from the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) rating system. CalQualityCare’s ratings include California-specific information that is not included in determining the CMS rating. Specifically, the CalQualityCare ratings incorporate state citations, complaints, and incidents; more comprehensive staffing information; and staff turnover rates. CalQualityCare.org is managed by the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF, link: http://www.chcf.org/), a nonprofit philanthropy dedicated to improving quality, increasing efficiency, and lowering the costs of health care in California.
